Our Church History

Christian Center was born as an answer to a prayer when a group of earnest Christians, fervently seeking God’s will, were brought together by the compelling leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Our Journey

Get to know more about what makes us different.

Since 1996, the ministry has been on an incredible journey and has grown in its purpose and vision for the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit thrust the ministry into a renewal movement, and the ministry began to grow into its new image in the community. Many ministries have been added, and outreach to Israel and the nations has greatly increased.
We also have become involved in the governmental arena, as we have partnered with ministries to political offices that affect the leadership of our state and country. Our call to prayer has led the ministry to pray for our leaders and believe in an awakening in the United States.

Our First Service

On Sunday, August 31, 1980, at 4:00 p.m., we held our first service on the beautiful campus of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and Christian Center became a reality!

Our Founding Pastor

Nolan Logan, our founding pastor, carried a great vision in his heart. When a group of believers responded to his vision, it formed a ministry that began to fulfill its mandate in our region.

The Pastoral Transition

In 1996, after the retirement of Pastor Logan, the ministry asked youth pastors Tim and Susan Carscadden to lead Christian Center into the next phase of its development.

WHY SHREVEPORT?

Get to know more about what makes us different.

In May 1981, God provided a miracle, and the Christian Center body purchased property at our present location on Idema Street. Construction began, and we moved into our present building in the spring of 1983.
Christian Center has remained a community pillar for more than 30 years. The vision on which it was founded continues to lead the advancement of the kingdom of God in our city, region and nations of the earth.
